Temasek Says Claim That Ho Ching Makes S$100M a Year Is False

Temasek Holdings Pte., Singapore’s state-owned investment company, denied speculation that Chief Executive Officer Ho Ching makes S$100 million($70 million) a year.

“This claim is false,” the state investor said in a rare statement addressing the pay of the top executive, who’s also Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong’s wife. “Furthermore, Ho Ching’s annual compensation is neither the highest within Temasek, nor is she amongst the top five highest-paid executives in Temasek.”

Temasek managed a S$313 billionportfolio as of March 2019. It’s the biggest stakeholder in half of the country’s 10 largest companies by market value, including flag-carrier Singapore Airlines Ltd. and DBS Group Holdings Ltd., the nation’s top bank.

Maybe she is not making $100M but $200M? Maybe she is not the top 5 but the top 2 or top 1? So saying the it is false that she is making $100M and is not top 5 is not wrong? Unless they print out the real figure, they can say whatever they want.
