Bro Wuqi

At this rate, Khaw will call you and have table talk as Singaporeans start moving to JB and he got HDB house glut.

Well done bro.

Thanks bro scroobal, i have actually done nothing much. :)

Just trying to help people to help themselves so that in the end, less people/burden for the government to worry.
Their HDB will still be taken up by so many of their PRs who are lining up for them. Don't think there will be any left
over.

I'll make it 20 :) plus 10 for u. Total 30 ;)

Thanks bros Erection and DOA, having those with 11B make it out of a stranded fast craft is my first priority.
No drinks required, 11Bs are always honoured. :)

SINGAPORE: Applications for the latest sale of Housing and Development Board (HDB) flats were 3.25 times oversubscribed.

As the deadline for applications drew to a close on Tuesday, the HDB received some 26,000 applications for the 7,978 flats released for sale last week.

Minister for National Development Khaw Boon Wan said in his latest blog post that the application rates have been reassuring.

For flats in mature estates, the overall first-timer application rate for the Build-To-Order flats was 2.1 while that for Sale of Balance Flats was 1.9.

He said this means first-timers continue to enjoy a high chance of securing their first flat.

In non-mature estates, the first-timer application rate of 1.8 for BTO flats is even more reassuring. Those who applied are almost assured of a flat.

Mr Khaw said more second-timers will also be able to select a flat.

Their application rate dropped from 20.7 in the January BTO exercise to a single-digit level of 6.7 in the latest exercise.

He added that many made use of the priority schemes which enable married children and parents to stay close to each other.

Mr Khaw also said the elderly responded well to the supply of studio apartments and the Ageing-in-Place Priority Scheme to right-size and age in a familiar environment.

One-third of the applications for studio apartments were from the elderly who are already living in the estate or moving to stay near their children in the same estate.

Wuqi on MM2H? Not bad.

I don't think I will ever reach that phase.

I only heard of property developers SP Setia and Naim Holdings which my gf is working for in East Malaysia.

Still in preliminary discussions with girlfriend. (Malaysian)

Looking at a place near 2nd link (At most RM400,000+, get by using her name only) or even move to Kuching.

Saw that bro DOA has already replied to you(Thanks bro DOA).
I would suggest here for now though Kuching is even more viable to stretch the dollar but Kuching you need to catch a plane
so unless you are there for long periods of time else flying out everytime may be a hassle to some in the long run.

Walk only when you cannot stay, cross only when you cannot hold, fly only when you cannot crossover.

Hi, newbie here, si beh tempted to live in JB and out for work in Sin.

Bro westcoastbay, me also share the same mindset as you, as i have a Malaysian wife. But she is a SPR now, does it affect anything if i buy a house in JB under her name ONLY?
( wish to siam the 10k levy)

You can only "siam" if you buy it without your name. As long as you have a foreigner name in the property, will have to pay. :(

Yes, but only from father/mother to son, etc. Else its considered a sale and you will still have to pay the 10k levy regardless.

Ya loh.....understand that. In fact, before i know about the 10k levy, i intend to put only wifey's name so that i can buy something less than rm500k......

At first i tout can buy MY car and drive into Sin, later realised from LTA website that SGreans cannot drive MY car into SIN......sianz.....

The only things i worried is the traffic jam at the customer......regardless whether is Causeway or 2nd Link....

Hi nightkids, at least your wife is SPR and working in SG. Something to fall back.

My girlfriend isn't working in SG now and there are a lot more factors for us to consider.

We are just thinking of JB as a viable option.

A lot of friends have told me I am kinda crazy to consider moving to JB cause you need cash and CPF money cannot use.
