Liew I am not sure. Bey is definitely out. His subordinate overtook him in SIA leading to his resignaton. If he can't be number 1 in SIA, overtaken by his subordinate, he is 55 I think, where got chance to be a MIW? They are looking for new blood. I am afraid Bey doesn't qualify here. Plus, his average performance in SIA makes this a no-no.
Look out for SC Cavinder Bull from Drew & Napier, Heng Swee Keat from MAS, Leo Yip from EDB and Patrick Tay from NTUC. All approached previously, before last GE. All turned down invitation. But at least 2 will be in. Mark my words. A son of a current MP is also among the favourites to be selectd. Old man is an oldtimer in the PAP.
PAP candidates are becoming of lower and lower caliber with each election. That shows high pay does not attract talent, it merely attracts people who cannot make it in real life, and have to resort to politics to enter the Wealthy Class. Tell me how many PAP candidates would make successful businessmen running multi-million dollar corporations or become inventors, etc? None.
It is a vicious cycle alright. When you are scholarly, obedient and always inclined to provide politically correct answers and opinions, you will seek the same type of people to replace you.
We must break this vicious cycle this GE. The outspoken chaps before joining the MIW have now miraculously transformed to compliant and obedient subjects. Sad. Disgraceful too.
Please don't anyhow shoot. To consider Bey, after his being publicly humiliated, is laughable.
