Why so I get the feeling that the change is for FT's kids who are weak in English?
SINGAPORE - The Ministry of Education announced on Monday that upper primary students will have a revised English syllabus from 2013.
The revised 2010 English Language (EL) Syllabus will be implemented from Primary Four onwards. The syllabus will focus on enabling students to "communicate effectively and confidently in the globalised world", conveyed the Ministry in a statement.
The new EL Syllabus will feature the use of rich texts and a variety of language resources to enable students to appreciate the language beyond the classroom. It also aims to help prepare students with the language skills they need for day-to-day communication.
Students who undergo this syllabus will sit the revised Primary School Leaving Examination (PSLE) EL papers in 2015.
