Unfortunately PAP has been keeping from us the figure for newly minted citizens. Even newspaper reports them as Singapore residents.

But this is one factor that cannot be ignored.

Frequently we see reports of PAP MPs/ministers dishing out Singapore citizenship to new citizens in ceremonies being held in the various CCs.
It is a foregone conclusion that these new citizens would vote for PAP.

Don't be surprise PAP would garner even a higher margin in the next GE.

Excerpt from The Alternative View

"There were 2,060,373 voters in GE 2011.
There were 2,304,332 voters in GE 2015.

The difference is 243,958 voters between the 2 GE.

Presumably, these additional voters are new citizens.
They add up to 11.8%"

Fact: A friend of mine had his status converted to "new citizen" just a week before GE2015 allowing him and his family to vote for you-know-who. I suspect thousands had theirs converted in time for GE2015.

confirms my suspicion of gerrymandering....

As I have said.

If a foreigner who gave up his citizenship and became a NEW citizen found Sinkland to be a paradise and would vote for the PAP...

why would you not be doing even better in your own home turf with home turf advantage run by the same PAP?

My only conclusion is. It is neithier the fault of the PAP or the new citizens that is the cause of your predicament.

But it is your own LOSER attittude that makes you Sinkie a 'wash out' as compared to the new citizens and you are pinning blame on everything except ....yourself.

And he is a friend of yours? LOL :D

200,000 new citizens represents close 8-9% of the electorate.

They would most certainly have voted PAP.

That's not true. The list of voters were locked down a few months ago. New citizens after that time will not be allowed to vote.

Nope. That's not what I am hearing from him.

You'll be surprised that I'm not surprised about the foreigners part, only about the part of conversion to "new citizen". LOL :D

You'll be surprised at how many of my friends, associates and business customers are foreigners.
