I hope Nelson out lives a bit more of LKY's life
An Ah-Neh song and dance praising Nelson Mandela, freedom fighter extra-ordinaire.
Let’s hope that this will inspire musically inclined Ah-Neh Sinkies to do a video cursing LKY, freedom taker extra-ordinaire. Hold it back until a few weeks before the Old Fart is about to expire and then “suddenly” release it and let it go viral when he is still conscious. That would be retribution perfecto. Karma at work.

People are saying that once Mandela goes, South africa might break up. Civil war might even be a possibility. :(
I doubt it. Mandela left politics completely more than a decade ago. That is one of the reason that he is considered such a great man. He has never inteferred or used his past to intervene, allowing it to root itself wihout being dependent on a single individual or a family.
Can't understand the interest about Nelson Mandela in this part of the world. No doubt he was a a hero to many Africans but don't we have our home grown hero - Mr Chia Thye Poh too?
I am confused why people are making comparisons between Nelson Mandela and LKY.
Their historical legacies will be very different.

You are confused because you are not a PAWS (porlumpar asslicking wannabe sycophant).
The PAWS will find a way, including those who secretly admire him and wish to emulate his family i.e. those that refer to him fondly and with deference as "old man". (without a, an the, this in front)
Yes Mr Chia broke Mandela's record as longest political detainee jailed.
Sg always wants number one how come never kpkb this fact?
I did a quick search on Google and Wikipedia on the honors bestowed on these two individuals and whilst Mandela has won both The Nobel Peace Prize and Time Magazine's Man of the Year in 1993, I really struggled to find anything noteworthy of consideration for the other one (unless you consider the Lincoln Medal significant).
When Mandela dies, his global tributes will make Thatcher's death seem rather inconsequential.
i did a quick google on Mandela, terrorist, misdeeds... there are plenty of results too. think everyone is entitled to their own opinion. they said "one man's terrorist is another man's freedom fighter."
That's true too but I think on balance, his contribution to equal rights for blacks and for a democratic South Africa more than outweigh the armed struggle he fought for the ANC.
One wonders that if he had not been around, would we still have apartheid today?
To me, he is more of a freedom fighter than terrorist just as I think Gerry Adams (Sinn Fein/IRA) is more of the opposite.
