Who would be dumb enough to sign on in the SAF? If you are a skilled diver you can probably make more in the private sector. There are so many ways to make a living as a diver:

Both this and Commando Course, you will notice that many are from well to do families and kids from really rich families are very well represented. Their home diet makes them bigger and stronger. Also they are not meek and can give as good as they get.

there are specific skills for each type of job.....e,g.
commercial divers may be competent in underwater cutting and welding, ship hull and propeller polishing; etc...
naval divers are trained to do under water navigating; mine clearance, etc....

Naval divers are only trained for combat operations like hydrographic recon and underwater demolition. Not sure if they do ship boarding. Other non-combat skill sets like technical skills are not really relevant.

Yes there is a brass bell with a white rope that they can ring. Directly copied from the US BUD/S training.

The term "A-team" is also used by the US green berets. 12 men a team, which can be split into two teams of 6 each as each skill set is duplicated. They were the very first units deployed to Afghanistan after the 9/11 attacks.

Aiyo here to discuss only....I never claim to be know it all.
Of course both are totally different and require specify skill set but if you need to make comparisons then just reference the records and firsts set by commercial divers vis a vis military divers.
Its machiam like a hypothetical shooting contest between the Olympic gold champion shooter against the top military sniper....I'm sure the Olympic gold champion will win.

However many of us eventually wake up to the realities of life in Spore. You only have a limited time to make enough $$$ before one is discarded.

uncle johnny, think you didn't get it quite right....ex green/red berets; seals are hot and in demand these days, esp in locations in the middle east, on ships that sail into highly dangerous routes.

here in the SAF, many of our red berets after their service at 45-50 are raking in 10-12k in usd a month serving in these locations..

A Team is for regulars. All those screw brains will go cheong. Only if you pass out from A Team, then you can cheong SEALS.
