Who would be dumb enough to sign on in the SAF? If you are a skilled diver you can probably make more in the private sector. There are so many ways to make a living as a diver:

Both this and Commando Course, you will notice that many are from well to do families and kids from really rich families are very well represented. Their home diet makes them bigger and stronger. Also they are not meek and can give as good as they get.

They don't called it HELL WEEK now, its called TEAM BUILDING WEEK.
All those from 1st to 9th batches are the toughest during the early and late 90s, whatever happened later are LOKANG DIVER standard IMHO.

Yes, they don't call it Hell Week which is the term used by the US Navy SEALs. The evolutions are also different, but the main theme is the same: sleep deprivation, continuous physical exertion, severe punishment for those who don't "win" (it pays to be a winner), and 100% emphasis on teamwork (individuals fail, only TEAMS survive). Another obviously difference is we don't have 60 farenheit sea water with which to "surf torture" our trainees.

These are not ordinary divers. Those who join do so because they want to serve the country in a certain capacity and they want to be pushed to their limits. They also find fulfilment being part of a select group and there is an overwhelming desire "to belong" which causes them to push themselves beyond ordinary people.

It's great to be young and idealistic

However many of us eventually wake up to the realities of life in Spore. You only have a limited time to make enough $$$ before one is discarded.
