National Day Rally did not reflect a PM speaking from a position of strength

Confuseous

He had nothing new to offer, except certain enhancements to his policies here and there. The more the Prime Minister talked, the more his words sounded like an opposition party manifesto. Yet, the solutions he offered fell just short of the solutions proposed by the opposition. Perhaps, just like the blue he wore - some shades darker than the blue of the Workers’ Party - a feeble attempt by the Prime Minister to be different?

If that was not enough, he reverted to the usual fear-mongering tactics, which has become the bulwark of dominant Singapore politics. Investors will pack up and leave. Jobs will be lost. The country will falter.

The PAP is a very conservative party, only goons like you expect them to make radical changes. The ignorant Mandarin speaking group will always fear, their culture is such, they either fear the gov't or they fear ghosts.

Fearing living people is more healthy for them.

they are already making changes - he not wearing pink is one LOL. This is the Rally after erections, his top priority is to molly coddy the people again...u see how fast the various departments came out concrete plans after his N-day rally.

Notice he keep repeating things will change - a change of tack from previous rallies where he only emphasis what we do is good, why is it good...etc etc...

But of course, he still stick to the old formula of lame jokes and present videos / photos - trying to show that they are IT savvy as well.

When PM Lee is humble, and magnanimous, you say he is not speaking from a position of strength. When he is speaking from a position of strength, you say he is bullying. If people like you don't even respect your own leaders, how do you expect FTs to respect you?

NO WONDER EVEN THE BANGLADESHIS, INDONESIANS AND FILIPINO DON'T SEE IT FIT TO EVEN RESPECT YOU!

So don't blame anybody but yourself. Unless you are not a Singaporean - may be a Malaysian - and trying to create division among Singaporeans.

They see people like you no up! No wonder even a lowly Filipina thinks you are not much better than her countrymen! No shame!

Go repent for your immoral living! Burn more money and give more offerings this seventh month to atone for your sin! Before you utter more rubbish, you better go to Haw Par Villa and see how they treat ungrateful people who keep on repeating lies! Free admission!

Why does the PM need to speak from a position of strength? He is governing a bunch of cowards, low stock, unadventurous and griping but no action people! He can put up a rag doll of himself and speak from his bathtub to you and nobody will be the wiser! The next day, chaps like you will come to cyberspace and complain, but life still goes on as per normal. You didn't even make a dent to his power and you say he got no power? Haha don't talk cock lah, you gave him the power and he don't need to use it against kiasus like you. He don't need power to handle you. Just take his last year speech and give it to you, you also LAN LAN.
