EDITORS’ NOTE: The Kempeitai is the Japanese military police. Since it was a MILITARY OFFICER who “discovered” Mr Nathan, shouldn’t he be working for the military police instead ? Anyway, there is no such thing as “civilian police” during Japanese occupation as the military is overall in charge of the police force”
