SINGAPORE - A naked man who was running along Bedok Reservoir Road was seen being pinned down by a group of policemen yesterday.

According to citizen journalism website Stomp, a reader was forced to brake his vehicle after the car in front of him stopped suddenly to avoid the naked man.

The man had dashed out onto the road in front of Block 136 Bedok Reservoir Road at around 2.26pm.

The reader said a group of men in black clothes and some police officers were seen pinning the man down in the middle of the road.

He was later shifted to a grass patch in front of the block and covered with some clothing.

If they had not stopped him he would have gone swimming in Bedok reservoir and not return.

Naked and suicide people are mutually exclusive.

But both shared a common need.

To be free from the world!

The Central Narcotics Bureau (CNB) officers had been tipped off about suspected drug activities in a third-floor flat at Block 631, Bedok Reservoir Road.

Entering the flat, the officers were surprised when a naked man suddenly rushed out and snatched a crowbar-like tool the officers had brought along for the raid.

A long, mad chase along busy Bedok Reservoir Road followed, only ending when the officers pinned him to the ground.

Thursday's dramatic mid-afternoon chase left motorists, passers-by and office workers shocked.
