Najib: Case closed, now we can move on

Prime Minister Najib Abdul Razak today welcomed the decision by attorney-general Mohamed Apandi Ali to clear him of any wrongdoing.

Now that the cases have been closed, he said, it is time for Malaysia to "move on".

“The issue has been an unnecessary distraction for the country.

"Now that the matter has been comprehensively put to rest, it is time for us to unite and move on," he said in a statement.

Najib was investigated over the RM2.6 billion found in his accounts and the RM42 million transferred to him from state-owned firm SRC International.

Najib added that the AG's findings affirmed his repeated assertions that "no crime was committed".

He said the episode had also shown how much Malaysians were concerned about political funding.

He recalled that he had in 2010 called for political funding reform but the moves were "blocked by the opposition at the time".

"However, I have instructed for them to be put forward again for discussion," he said.

He also promised to "redouble focus" on issues that actually matter in Malaysia.

These included combatting terrorism and dealing with economic woes.

Apandi had this morning announced that Najib was cleared of wrongdoing and the cases were closed.

He said investigations showed the Saudi royal family had donated US$681 million to Najib.

The prime minister had used US$61 million and returned the rest, Apandi said.

The AG also said Najib had no knowledge of the RM42 million that purportedly came from SRC International.

He had at all material times believed it was part of the Saudi donation, Apandi said.

Luckily for sinkes, there is no such scandal in sinkie land and the brand of sinkie land still flying high and good in the international arena.

As for matland, it is becoming a joke ... the PM investigated by his subordinates and as expected, they could find no dirt or stain even when using the magnifying glass.

They should do what the yankees are famous for ... put the PM before the Grand Jury and let the Committee members grill the shit out of him like they did to Nixon.

Nothing wrong with accepting donations. Even ordinary sinkies like Roy and Amos accepts donations, let alone an important man like Najib. Let us close ranks and move on. A Najib government is a good and friendly government to the Republic.

WHY DID THE CHICKEN CROSS THE ROAD?

Najib: I don't know how the chicken got to the other side of the road, but there's no proof that it is on my side.

IGP Khalid: We will investigate all those who spread mischief online claiming the chicken crossed road.

AG Apandi: We have investigated the matter and found that there was no wrongdoing in the chicken's crossing the road. The chicken has been cleared of all allegations. In fact, we have discovered that the chicken went back to the original side of the road not long after.

Rahman Dahlan: The chicken needs to wake up earlier if it wants to cross the road without paying toll.

Dr M: In my time, chickens didn't cross the road.

Ahmad Maslan: Instead of crossing to the other side, the chicken should work two jobs in order to survive on this side.

Ismail Sabri: We will open another Road Ayam 2.

Hadi: I don't care which side it's on. Is the chicken halal?
