No matter who was/is in charge, Peesai would pretty much be the same. Why I say so is that Singapore is dependent on the rest of the world, especially the region. Peace in the region is essential for progress, economic and social. Events after the last major war put in place the powers that shape history. Singapore's central position and shelter from natural calamities placed her in a good position for foreign investors to feel safe. No matter which government was in charge, as long as it wasn't extremely left wing or right wing but pro-business, Sg would progress. Perhaps with someone else in charge, there would be less restrictions on media, arts, social freedoms. Peesai could have flourished a little more.

yup i agree totally!!!first of all, singapore already the central hub for all the countries to do business and financial transcation.second, no big natural calamities.just these 2 factor were enough.then, the british already laid out all the foundation.the current president house was built by the british too.

then the cpf system also invented and introduce by the british.
