My family and I got BURNT by PAP policies so many times

You're judging a book by its cover. The chances of LKY's offspring winning manhunt or miss universe contests are remote but one has to marvel at their academic achievements.

LHL is brilliant. 1st class hons from Cambridge is no mean feat. In fact, all his children are way above average in the IQ dept.

His family is living proof that eugenics works and should be embraced.

There is no evidence that the Lee family is eugenised. There are many families with way above average IQs. Just go to a Mensa family outing.

In anycase, what good is eugenics if hte results look like this...

Anyone else got BURNT by PAP policies?

Let's share your stories of PAPy policies or GLC businesses that have BURNT a hole in your pocket.

Many Sinkees got burnt because of CLOB International. LHL said he would take Malaysia to the WTO. I'm still waiting.

'SEX' made use of the loopholes in the trading system of KLSE, by opening trding accounts with the stock brokers in Singapore, who then open a parallel Asing Accounts with their Malaysin counterpartsa, who deposited and withdrew the shares in the numerous Asing Nominees Account with KLSE clearing house. They were making good money from registration fees, clearing fees etc..from those who traded in CLOB, and were 'buttering the bread on both sides'

Doctor who ( you know whooo) & KLSE pulled the plug off CLOB Malalysian by changing KLSE trading rules & regulations, KILLED CLOB MALAYSIAN counters. The common man suffered...you know who (whooo) was the Finance Minister at that time, wanted to take KLSE to the International Court Of Justice at the Haque, now forgotten already!:o

Not only CLOB, SIMEX was also doing parallel trading of Japanese Bonds...it which the Japanese protested...

Many were 'burnt' badly, they were even blacker than BBQ Seng...many lost their life savings, if the people who lost money know one single person in charge to blacken, they would have, unfortunately there wasn't because they were dealing with an entity.

This is one 'burnt' policies...

are you fucking kidding? i was looking hard for a "" in your post but couldn't find one... eugenics should be dead and buried after the holocaust.

If IQ were the definitive answer to "how do i become successful", then there would be Zero poor, but smart (high IQ) people around. i'm sure we all have met really smart but poor people around.

vice vera, there would not be rich, but stupid people around. but there are so many of this class around. smart and rich people don't gamble $26m away in a couple of days.

After collecting clearing fees and registration fees, what did PAP do to rectify the problem they created? When will the court hearing start?

It took about two to three years but the CLOB saga was settled with KLSE allowing Singapore stockbroking firms to open MCD nominee accounts to hold and trade their "unclobbered" shares, based on KLSE listing of course. Many shareholders got "clobbered" through the inconvenience and time taken through the process, but nobody got "robbed," so to speak.

Not only CLOB, SIMEX was also doing parallel trading of Japanese Bonds...it which the Japanese protested...

SIMEX (now part of SGX) traded NIKKEI index futures. There were some Japanese token protests but they turned into smirkful smiles with the "Rogue Trader" (Nick Leeson) saga, a couple of years before the CLOB saga.

Kawan, I have been through this whole fiasco...what you had mentioned I would not dispute, many had lost their pants...before they brought in someone to be their 'mouthpiece' to slavage the situation. The fact remains that KLSE like a 'volcano' been blowing smoke signals for a VERY LONG time, and we were just too arrogant to take attention; instead, the postering was "what can you do"..and they DID!.

Whatever those who managed to sell remnants of the shares held in the aftermath of the death of Malaysian CLOB counters, was sold at a sunstantial loss. In any given market, there will be some will make money, and those are the ones, they would want everybody to know, that all is rosy.

It as not only the NIKKEI index futures...the Japanese was crying foul over, go do your research...this let to the quiet retirement of SAM the woman fro SIMEX & the head of the SES...

Many people lost a hellva lot of money; in any countries, there will be widespread protest & the demand of accountability & even removal or replacement of certain key figures invoved...or even a change of a government.

In uniquley your SINGAPORE...IT HAD ALLOWED to continue....amazing!, unique!:p

Elizabeth Sam looks more power woman than Ho Ching. She should take over Temasek.

Technically, all CLOB shareholders were supposed to get their shares back. The losses were due to share prices post financial crisis after they got them back and the fustrating wait. KLSE had a valid and legal reason to "clobber" CLOB. After SES (now SGX) setup CDP for scripless trading in Singapore, KLSE also setup MCD for scripless trading in Malaysia. Those CLOB shares then trading in Singapore weren't secondary listings (e.g. Genting got two listings, both sides, not affected.) Those were KLSE share scrips left behind in Singapore after demerger. To go centralised scripless, they had to have them back.

psst...me know the technicality of it all, I sat in the public gallery of the stock exchange when I was ten years old...anyway, those who got 'burnt' not able to get out when the market close in on them...ok!, they didn't get ashes, but charcoal...at least they can light fire with that...but something better than nothing at all...but many got ashes...

We used to live at Oxford road, near Rangoon in the 70's but the green-eyed cb garment annexed our land on pretext of using it for garment building! Guess wat? It's a condominium now...ccb! The land itself worth at least 35mils as valued in the present market. Really got screwed and skewered by those white-clothed Nazis!

After we settled on the technicalities, here comes the point. And the point is, the Government and SES should have foreseen that evenuality, since that's so technical. I believe they had, but put it on hold for along as possible, since it was so profitably generating commissions and taxes as CLOB share prices were most volatile and tradable for speculators. When that eventuality eventually came, the shareholders and speculators would bear the brunt anyway.

That is what I had said, "the volcano(KLSE) had been blowing smoke & plumes of ashes", the authorities here just ignore it. The chairman of the KLSE had been mentioning for sometime that CLOB MALYSIAN COUNTERS are illegal & Dr. you know whooooo had been saying something to the effect also, but we just ignore them as hogwash.

That was the time I had been disseminating information to....... about this, and to cover or sell off positions before the 'volcano' explode.

The unfortunate victims are those who do not have access to such information, these are the people...who are caught when the 'volcano' exploded...and got BURNT!

We were just too arrogant...

This statement is so wrong but funny! Tell this to any lao chiao simex nikkei trader and I bet he'll have a good laugh. :D

Don't pay too much attention to Sam Leong, he's shafting his arse with a 1.5litre bottle while posting earlier today.

LHL is a disgrace to graduates and Cambridge whenever he speaks in public. I have never seen anyone leading a public life be so incompetent and pathetic and I know I never will.
