Msia gonna to replace sinkie as a silicon valley in South East Asia

Micron penang also have also hear some rumours that some of the sinkie departments moved there aft the pandemic to save costs. Aft sinkie lease finished, bye bye sinkie.

Malaysia can overtake S'pore only if it gets rid of Affirmative Action, but they won't dare to because the majority race can never compete with the Chinese and Indians on a level-playing field.
The Malaysian Islamic leaders will take preemptive action to ensure Islamisation supercedes technology to create a islami malaysia.

Semiconductor nothing much of a big deal as it is cyclical market. Msia market mostly 8 inch fab. MNC companies are just wanna wash money so sinkie or msian market they are okay. msia land is much bigger and cheaper. Sinkie temeasek will give good incentives.

Sinkie land too small. The biggest semiconductor plant they managed to get is micron which they are not the strongest in memory sector.

strong SGD$ turns away hi-tech company

Totalitarian regimes cannot have innovation or creativity, so forget about being some IT or A.I hub.

Abolish POFMA first and unblock wrongthink websites e.g. Asia Sentinel, then talk.

JD Vance explains perfectly.

Sinkie and Jiu hu are not really microchip powerhouse. We are mere assembling location.
Sinkie tried to replicate TSMC with chartered semiconductor but failed.
Jiu hu too tried similar with Silterra eventually sold to Beijing semiconductor. Actually TSMC bid highest but for some reason, Beijing got it as it has shareholding with a bumi Partner.
So you cannot run a semiconductor plant by civil servants. It just wouldn't work. The drive is not there.

In the 1970s, the KMT sent local representatives to the United States to study and work in the semiconductor industry, ultimately leading to the creation of world-class companies like TSMC and numerous chip factories. SInkies just shed-off their fishing kampong images

It's not just US. Taiwan has a penchant for anything Japanese. At that time Toshiba, NEC were powerhouses too. And Taiwanese studied and worked in Japan too.

for most tech workers in sillycon valley it’s about chasing the stock option dream. jumping from tech firm to next tech firm to get higher rewards with stock option offers has been an ongoing musical chair choreography. just met a sinkie friend who quit apple to join nvidia as nvidia offers upward mobility in stock option movement. another one jumps from goog to meta. if jiuhu doesn’t offer similar greed and ambition paths it is just as good as mati.
