I'm surprised this question comes up. It should be a question to MBT and PM LHL if you're interested in a MBT v. GMS showdown. GMS isn't PMO in charge of ED to decide boundaries or whether GRC or SMC. If MBT wants to hide behind a GRC team, then GMS has to fight him with a GRC team. What one to one? Cheng San was close. They didn't reduce the size of GRCs then. Eunos was close, they increased the size of GRCs to 5.
If they really wanted to win, they'd just have to divide Singapore into three GRCs - Ang Mo Kio, Marine Parade and Tanjong Pagar - 28 MPs each.
