Confuseous

Commenting on the 412 criminal cases which have to be reviewed because of the test lab errors and the re-test of 2,000 samples, Dr Lam Pin Min, chairman of the Government Parliamentary Committee for Health, said "it was also consoling to know that the officer involved in this case has the moral courage to own up to the mistake so that the problem can be identified, rectified and further errors avoided."

B I G D E A L !!!! W O W !!!

His comments are a frightening reminder that when serious events like these happen, the guy who makes life-threatening mistakes on innocent lives is praised for his moral courage instead of being fired and slapped with disciplinary measures? Just what is going on in Singapore?

Give him chance la. He is trying to under play the

INCOMPETENCE OF MANAGEMENT

Same as the claws that fell out along the MRT line....same incompetence, but they are efficient when they collect money from us & rewarding themselves with good pay; that is world class.

Could it be that because of these mistakes in DNA analysis, a criminal could be left off free?

DNA is not a decisive factor in charging a person. It is an aid to the police when considering the evidence that are being presented.

DNA will indicate if the person was ever at the scene of crime but does not tell the date and time when he was there. There are other factors like the suspect/witness/victim statements, other evidence found at the scene (like CCTV, fingerprints, etc), suspect motives, etc.
