Actually I waited for a long time to ensure that I can see a consistent pattern forming.

Now the chairs are not from your restaurant when you clearly gave the impression that it was yours. Which restaurant in the world allows discrimination where one can and pick and choose what items that can be served and to whom and to collect money first for some and not for others. It either a canteen or coffeeshop. I don't think I one has to be shy about these things.

There are thousands of taxi drivers in Singapore and as a supposed restauranteur you are preoccupied about taxis taking your staff home to the point of obession. Note that you have been harping about taxi and your PRC staff all the time. Everyone will acknowledge that some drivers are rude but the way you make it that everyone is out to get your staff and you. I suspect that you must have bargained until cheap cheap that they can't be bothered.

It does not add up. I can't help but thing that you are living a fantasy. You remind me about Tonychat.

You pick and choose one or two lines and then attack me. But that is your style, you can't change a leopard's spots

The chairs flying was during that super-windy night and I was referring to what I witnessed, not my restaurant. If you are too free, you can check

I collect from young angmohs - those under 30 - before they order. And I tell my staff don't serve beer to them. If they are not happy, it's okay, I don't need angmoh business. They are a nuisance and I have many bad experience with angmoh. Poor upbringing.

Unfortunately young Singaporeans have lost our Confucian and Asian values because they watch too many Hollywood movies and ape what items on the menu the West.

Taxi drivers are rude to my PRC staff and they are in foreign land, dont want to create a scene.

Now I just try to stick to five regular taxi drivers, two of them originally from Hong Kong, onr from PRC, the other two local

Foreigners work harder and complain less. Singaporeans always complain and idle like fuck

What MPs say in Parliament is true

Singaporeans are MOLLYCODDLED CHOW AH GUA

Do NS still ah gua, ptui!

you are obviously academically educated but you are not educated in the ways of the world, you need to get out more

i run a business. it serves the public. i get all kinds of people every day - some good, some bad, mostly just hungry

but patterns emerge. certain groups are trouble makers - like young angmohs

sometimes they eat and run away, sometimes they kick up a fuss and demand to pay less. or they make fun of my PRC waitresses in English. so my policy is if you are angmoh and below 30 and not accompanied by older adult, i will ask you pay first or you can leave. you can complain to authorities for all i care. i have done enough business to know who are the troublemakers

taxi drivers - many of them assume PRC women are automatically hookers and talk shit to them. a small percentage are but the PRC community here is well over 250,000/ i have great respect for PRC

people who upset my staff make my upset. i am a caring employer and will protect their interest

as for you, from the language you use in your postings, obviously you are not the typical unemployed local fresh grad or emo youngster but you really need to get out more

Oh I agree Singaporeans are screwed up, so is other country's. Let's not spin this out of context.

Singaporean are whiny, yes, I am Singaporean and I agree.
Singaporean lacked back bone, yes, agree to that too.

However, the same applies to many people all over the world once scrutinized.

We Singaporeans have a long way to go, and we know it. Our government is not helping, we are sure of it. Will we ever achieve a mature state of mind as a people? I am not sure, and feel that it may not happen during my lifetime.

Put it this way, can wine mature properly if the vat is shaken all the time?

people are already run down in this recession, is it necessary to kick a man when he is down.

besotted, you may be a successful business owner but you have a cold heart. i think you are not a happy man

anyway, this is blogger Lucky Tan's comments on Sam Tan's speech

http://singaporemind.blogspot.com/2009/05/sam-tan-singaporeans-are-mollycoddled.html

MP Sam Tan : Singaporeans are too mollycoddled....

Wow. Singaporeans are so pampered by their govt according to MP Sam Tan. Sam Tan gets about $217K a year for his part time MP job and probably much more for his full time job.

Sam Tan is not mollycoddled, it is the thousands of Singaporeans hired in the volatile manufacturing sector, temp jobs who have to struggle to make ends meet that are mollycoddled. It is the $800 cleaner who has to go to the govt for help when she loses her job because it was not possible for her to save any money given the rising cost of living that is mollycoddled.

It is not the job the govt to help all these people, MP Sam Tan is saying the govt should walk away and that will toughen up Singaporeans.

This is all very interesting especially when Sam Tan has a safe job in the CDAC which is recession proof and a part-time MP job that pays $217K - Sam Tan is not mollycoddled, ordinary Singaporeans who lose their low paying jobs easily and have no choice but to seek help are the ones who are mollycoddled.

Sam Tan who got into parliament in Tanjong Pagar GRC thorugh a walkover on the coattails of MM Lee is not a mollycoddled politician but the Singaporeans who have to compete against the foreign workers who come in by the thosands are mollycoddled.

Ordinay Singaporeans who have no safety net and have to work until they are old are mollycoddled. But Sam Tan who will get pension after serving as MP is not mollycoddled. The old ladies digging the trash for aluminium cans and collecting cardboard boxes for a living are mollycoddled but Sam Tan is not mollycoddled.

The thousands of ordinary Singaporeans who squeeze like sardines in the public transport, struggle to pay for the costliest public housing in the world and the non-stop hikes in fees, fares and rates of govt agencies are the ones who are mollycoddled but MP Sam Tan who makes more money in his part-time MP job in one month than many Singaporean workers in one year is not mollycoddled.
.
MP Sam Tan who never have to feed his family with less than $2000 a month is qualified to say that ordinary Singaporeans are mollycoddled. It is not the job of govt to help the poor and needy....what is the job of the govt? To squeeze ordinary Singaporeans so that can barely breathe to ensure that the people struggle ? Sam Tan says this will 'toughen' Singaporeans up. Yes, Sam Tan is one tough person who has never worked in the private sector and has never been retrenched to tell us all that.

Lackey Sam should walk his talk and take some knocks and challenge the Hougang's Peasants' Representative.
