Just read ST this morning about the court case. On top of the Visa spending, house renovation loan, and the help to cover up the "mistakes", it also revealed that Ming Yi is very determined to get this guy into Ren Ci.

In fact, Ren Ci applied for employment pass for this Raymond guy and it was rejected in 2001. Then for the next 4 years they made repeated applications and appeals until the application was approved by 2004, all these under the instruction of Ming Yi.

I am more surprise that no contract was drawn nor interview was conducted to check this guy's qualification when they applied for the employment pass, and during these years, Ming Yi kept this guy by his side as a volunteer for Ren Ci. He even deviced a scheme to pay this Raymond by asking the staffs to add Raymond's "salary" into his and he will pay in private.

What on earth is so good about this guy until Ming Yi has to go all the way to make it happened? The only conclusion is that they are related in one way of another.

Talking about these things here are meaningless unless there are a lot more rats hidden behind the door. The smell of rats in this case is enormous and Ming Yi really needs to come clean if he is still proud of wearing his robe.
He simply can't comprehend that every single day he walks in and out of the court room, he is tarnishing the good name of Buddha and his teaching.

The case has shown many things, the irregularities in Ming Yi's relationship with Raymond what ever his name, the irregularities in Ren Ci's practise as a result of this relationship, the idiocity of Ren Ci's management to turn a blind eye on how Ming Yi managed the organization and the very stigma that a Buddhist laymen are not allowed to question the behaviour of monks.

Forget about other religion, the Buddhist organization in Singapore really needs to reflect on itself about its own governance of its community, otherwise Bduuhism will cease its reason for existence here in the long run.

I don't really appreciate your way of talking. Sometimes people help others because they like that person (nothing to do with penetrations or the People's Champion pastor Kang's elaborate explanation "friendship of a glandular nature") without judging them or if we go deeper, an affinity.

If you receive selfless and strong support and help from others would you complain about it saying "I am so well taken care of by an important personage but you guys aren't and are living hard lives - I INSIST THIS IS TOTALLY UNFAIR TO ALL OF YOU!!!!"? No, you'd most likely keep it to yourself, keep quiet, and enjoy the care given to you by others. So sometimes, whether you are being totally objective or not (which I don't really think so), you should not be so sour grapes about what others can have and you can't, especially if the help given by another does not involve "the rise and fall of oestrogen levels".

Oh yes it IS meaningless. More rats behind the door? Who do you suspect? Want to share it with us all here? All this talk and digging these crazy people out is endless. In the very general context, as long as humanity is around there would always be greed. If a greedy person in such positions is removed and replaced, then another would likely be charged for the same thing. It never ends.

So the thing is, they do what they do, and if what they do is right we follow and if what they do is not right then we don't follow. In both cases we learn and improve ourselves further. And wrong. "Stigma" is the wrong word. Lay people mostly do not have the Dharmic Eye or possess the wisdom to judge or criticize the Sangha (monks and nuns), they only judge within what they see and what they hear and not beyond, so their views could be wrong, and they may end up in religious slander if not blasphemy and may inadvertently dissuade others from joining this faith which in itself, is good. Thus they are unfit to judge and criticize those who chose the way of a higher spiritual cultivation. Like Ji Gong, he eats pigeons and drinks wine, but what is his purpose of doing so? Why is he doing this? If you cannot answer these simple questions and do not know anything then are you or anybody fit to say he is a bad monk and he should leave the faith?

People should not only refrain from criticizing the Sangha (also including the Buddha and Dharma - all of which form the Triple Gem), but also there should be a "stigma" against people criticizing each other too. Like Dale Carnegie (he has a Bodhi heart - that of a bodhisattva in my opinion) said in his book so long ago to NEVER criticize others, for fear of driving them to undesirable ends if not also, to discourage them from moving forward to realize their full and ultimate potentials.

But do you people listen? No. Maybe "no" is too final a word to use, but well, if you people like to continue criticizing others everywhere you go and make their lives hell you can be sure that you all will get the same in return from others, sometimes even twofold. And your lives must be made hell too. It should be reasonable to believe that the heavens actually dislike such people, together with the type who indulge in malicious gossip.

So all these I have said, are principally why people should talk less (because most of the things they say are bad, critical, negative, frivolous and unproductive) and think more. Even if you disagree with anything at least be polite and civil about it and exercise some reserve, not indulge in cattish name-calling that bitches like most.

Sometimes we need to mind ourselves before we mind others. Unfortunately, you people still have a long way to go in this aspect.

Also where bad people are plenty, it goes without saying that if you should come across a good one (even if he or she is misunderstood or not easily understood or appreciated or a social lion or whatever and not just in the context of romance) you must cherish and protect that person to the best of your ability.
