By Elysa Chen
Three men rained blows on him with spanners and baton-like objects for almost five minutes.
The attack was so vicious that Mr Yeo Boon Beng, 44, a money-changer, needed 14 stitches to his head.
Mr Yeo was carrying $100,000 in Singapore dollars and Malaysian ringgit when he was attacked around 2pm on Dec 16 last year.
The robbers fled empty-handed on motorcycles when his sister-in-law, Madam Ng Mei Lan, 46, rushed to his aid by hurling a flower pot at them.
Till today, he still fears for his safety and even thought about giving up his business.
The police said investigations are ongoing. No suspect has been arrested. At least six men are believed to have been involved in the attempted robbery.
Experts said it may take years for such victims to recover from the psychological wounds
