Singapore is a safe haven . Set your horizons wider .

And you understand more of the world !

I know Singapore is a safe haven, or else why in the world would every Tom, Dick, Mei Mei, FTs, be clamouring to come here.

As for horizons, I supposed it should be as far as the eyes can see, do you think that is wide enough?.

If I ever were to elaborate further . A paragraph will be insufficient .

Besides saying more, the government will just come up with
more stringent policies for better or for worst .

well done. i hope more people do like him. Stay away from sinkieland at all cost.
Wrong! Read carefully as you can see Singapore is still an ATM for him. Without the Singapore ATM I don't think he can afford to spend his life in USA loitering round his home. He is smart not to bite the hands that feed him. Remember tiny Singapore President earns much more than the mighty USA President.

the reverse happens too
people stays here and earn their living overseas

nothing wrong with that
it depends on the environment you want have your home

Actually what I want to say is if he is looking at the kind of life overseas can offer him, he should work and live in US. And not live in US with his family and take up jobs in Singapore. Travelling every month is the kind of life he wants?

It's more of the case where reality sinks in, the jobs in US do not pay as much as what he is getting in Singapore. If not why would he spend weeks away from his family just to perform gigs in Singapore.

The purpose of migration is to live and be able to sustain lifestyle by working in foreign country. Not depending on the work in Singapore and living in overseas.

He's got a network in Spore, so its easy for him to make a living here. As he gradually makes his move to the US, I expect he will make new contacts in the US.

When he finally makes the permanent move to the US, it'll be when he's making more there than in Spore. The typical wages in Canada is much higher than that found in Spore & when the US recovers from the recession there will be more opportunities available there.

Sporeans must learn from the hongkies who are now Aussie, Canadian, US citizens. Many of them work in HK because it's more lucrative. There's nothing wrong with being a global talent.
