TO me, these who serve the PM are REAL beggers. They say good things all the time so they got paid 5 or 6 digit salaries.

Whereas, the beggers in the streets beg with pride. You dont give, they just walk away.

This is the biggest LKY bullshit I have heard in my life. He is getting it wrong.

There will always be a section of society that will become destitutes, despite the best of government policies.

In some societies, destitutes are hidden and ignored.

In some societies, we have organisations and people with good intentions who want to make a differences in people's lives by providing soup kitchens.

As for begging on the street/homelessness, there is a difference between a government that round up such people and put them out of public views and a government that providing fundings to organisations (eg Salvos) to help these people receive some form of temporary shelters.

Becos singapore have no such soup kitchens, the hungry resort to eating leftover in hawker centres. Drinking the soup and eating the leftovers before the cleaners clear the plates, or quarrel with them for the left overs.



You have NOT seen it before dont you? Many of them are old man and old aunties, who cannot make ends meet.

He finally admitted that he is not the only one to build Singapore. It was our forefathers who build Singapore more but by comparison in salaries, those who build with him are now picking cans and cardboards for survivial while their savings are used up to pay for basic cost of livings which are rediculously high. And the current MPs who were sucking milk then, are now behaving like they are the king and queens of these poor forefathers.

ya man totally agree. and the worse part is, his own sucker still shamelessly asking the olderly to work inorder to survive in this country that they contribute so much.the govt shld at least take care of the pioneer, if not for them we will not be wat we r now
