Re: Brexit: DPM Tharman have spoken
It is a carefully crafted comment that leaving eu is bad. However, I am saddened by his biased view. He noted that those in the industrial cities who voted leave may end up getting hurt more. He also highlighted that the old voted to leave. What he had not comment on was in his personal understanding, how badly hurt are these group of people right now? Is there any way for them to improve their lots under the current situation if they remain in eu? Brit are not so stupid. They may not believe in WDA, especially when one is already 50 years old.
Globisation is a zero sum game. Assuming A employs B, a fellow countryman, to make a shirt for $10 and sold it for $20, making a profit of $10. With globalization, A got X from another country to make the shirt for $1. After selling the shirt for $20, A now makes a profit of s19 (which is how globalisation makes the rich get richer) and X gained $1. Poor B gets $0 after globalization, which is how the middle class faces the blunt of the negative effec. I will also vote to leave if I am B. He can't get any worst. However, the country will ger worst, and that is what the rich are worried of. When there is chaos, may get robbed and their properties destroyed. To B, he has nothing to lose and riot may be good as he may loot shops to get what he wants.
It is worrying to see politicians thinking only from their narrow minded view and worst when he was suppose to be the better one.
Tharman is like Singapore's answer to Warren Buffett. If The Tarman says UK leaving EU is bad, then it must be bad. Good luck to UK. Their women would be working as maids and hookers in foreign countries within the next few years.
