in my groups of acquaints, there are sg, my and hk families that had migrated to australia simply because of the benefits that they and their children will enjoy here. ranging from free medical to lower cost in uni fees, some placed their children here while they worked in sg. and these aren't your average folks, they can range from dentists, lawyers, doctors to specialists too. these families have the connection, knowledge and power to pull such opportunities for their children and themselves.
too bad our sg's lower to middle income group families don't have access to such lead which can help them to break out from the doldrums that they are in now.
forever remain trapped in a sg's rigid and stifling society. how i wish i can help those blue collar workers to get the oz pr here and get their kids to study in the uni here. Such opportunities should not just reserve for the rich sg professionals alone.
We cant save everyone,,,we have to save ourselves,,,

One of my staff has difficulties finding tilers doing small jobs, eg tiling a small 5sqm kitchen floor for his new townhouse. Ended up doing it himself, renting a tile cutter, etc with average results.
