Michelle Reis Almost Died From A Heart Condition In January Because Of A Punctuation Error In Her Doctor’s Text

In January this year, former screen goddess Michelle Reis, 52, was rushed to the hospital when she experienced heart palpitations and breathing difficulties.
According to Michelle's IG post then, she “narrowly escaped death” and was placed in the ICU for 48 hours. She took to her Instagram a few days later to thank her medical team for their care, and also apologised causing her family worry.

Yesterday (Oct 25), the former Miss Hong Kong opened up about her medical emergency for the first time in an interview.
She said that when it happened, her heart was beating very fast and reached around 160BPM. A normal resting heart rate for adults is between 60 to 100BPM.
After getting checked by a doctor, Michelle’s husband, Hong Kong tycoon Julian Hui, noticed she appeared drowsy and asked if it was possible to let her rest for a bit before going to the hospital.
The doctor then replied via text with two simple words: “No Hurry”.
Julian thought the message meant they did not need to hurry, and decided to let Michelle rest first.
The doctor then called Julian to tell him to rush Michelle to the hospital immediately.
Turns out, when the doctor texted “No Hurry”, he actually meant “No! Hurry!”.

Michelle said that she might not have woken up if she had really fallen asleep that day.
She was also semi-conscious during the whole ordeal and wasn’t aware of how serious her condition was.
Michelle’s family also only found out about the gravity of her situation when she was admitted into the hospital.
