Michael Palmer: Why Singaporeans should vote for the PAP

The government has already given enough clues on how things work. Just read the first few lines. If you still do not get it, you never will.

When a person walks into court, he assumes he knows how things work. Problem is, the judge doesn't assume, the judge knows. The accused hanged himself with his own assumptions.

Least we be folly not ONCE, not even TWICE, but elections after elections again and again that the ruling elites will keep to their promises... do not count on it... the "holy Spirit" had left them... and the "almighty" no longer take favor in them.

It's time they GO totally than to see remnants of them. How worst can OPP get in government will be no more comparable to what the current ruling elites did to Singaporean.

They enrich u then "rob" you.. we are nothing but cash crops. If this is what we believe then just put in a few opp to tickle them.

IMHO, NO! they must exit as the ruling elites. No 2 sides in on one side of coin.
I'm quite happy to have ALL of them voted out of parliament and for the alternative parties to take over the government.
The pappies would for sure do a very good job as the opposition, since they know what it's like to be in power and would want it back as soon as possible.
I only said "several of them" because I don't think the "all" scenario is going to happen anytime soon. Whereas the "several" scenario may be sooner than they think.

I really hope - against all hopes... that OPP will stand in ALL wards. and just hopefully by a FREAK result OPP get 51% of the parliamentary seats forming the next government. For OPP to prove their mantle, they need to be in the government, as in the football teams playing and not just the lines men. ... I believe once OPP come into power it will stall the rate of inflation in property prices as well as inflationary numbers in FTs to say the least.

Come what may, hopefully all Singaporeans will wake up and boot the PAP for crying out loud. They had plans for our country funds or sovereign funds and CPF running into donkey years, which indirectly blatantly telling Singaporeans THEY(PAP) will be in paper perpetually or at least for as long as the way they forecast their investment with the sovereign funds. This is PURE arrogance at its best.

They won't be doing a serious examination of themselves anytime soon.
And the reasons are simple, they are paid too much to bother to do that and they have been convinced over the years that they are doing the right thing and are indispensable.

The only way to change things is to vote several of them out of parliament and explain the reasons to them after the event, if they bother to pass. Only then will those still in parliament bother to examine themselves

I stand in awe and respect for the above statement made by you. I humbly cede my apology to you.

I'm not as optimistic as you bro.
Firstly, I'm not pinning too much hopes on the opposition, either as a strong opposition or a good government. There's a lot for them to prove still. Will they immediately remove and lessen the inflow of foreigners thereby angering businesses and influential people? Will they reduce the ministars' pay? I doubt so, but it remains to be seen.

Secondly, we are in this forum too often and too long. :)
There is a lot of support for the pappies out there, from their friends and family, from businesses and individuals benefitting from them in power, from civil servants, from newly minted citizens, from women, from family men, from the elderly, from retired civil servants, from scared people, from ignorant people, from brain-washed people, from financially well off people who don't want to rock the boat but who know what they are like, from stupid poor people who think that lack of luck is the cause of their troubles, etc etc.
The list is very long.
