Merlion striked by lightning

I hope the merlion is fine, any update from man on the street? I don't want them to replace merlion with LKY statue in future. It will be quite sad.

If the damage ws due to a lightning strike then something is wrong wit hthe lightning. There should be burnt edges along the damaged area. Seeing that there is none. IT LOOKS like someone threw a heavy object onto the merlion to damage it.

Probably some FT unhappy with the pappies and decided to take their unhappiness against the merlion!

SINGAPORE, Feb 28 - Singapore's iconic Merlion statue, a popular tourist attraction, was damaged by lightning on Saturday afternoon during a thunderstorm, government radio reported. No one was hurt.

News radio station 938Live said the Merlion was struck by lightning between 4 and 5 pm local , causing parts of the statue to fall near a group of startled visitors.

The 8.6 metre-tall Merlion has the head of a lion and the body and tail of a fish, and sits at the mouth of the Singapore River near the central business district.

The lion head symbolises Singapore's founding by an Indonesian prince who named his new settlement after a lion he saw when he landed on the island. The body of the fish represents Singapore's origins as a fishing village.

Singapore, or "Singapura", is derived from the Sanskrit words Singa .

Singapore's police could not be reached for comment while a spokeswoman for Singapore's information ministry said she did not have any details about the incident.

It can be a good sign too, the merlion survives and will have good luck. Also, the lightning represents PAP, maybe the merlion wants to vote for opposition, but kena whacked hard on the head.

Even if you mind your own bloody business, do what you are suppose to do, remain in deep self imposed apathy, DOES NOT MAKE YOU IMMUNE FROM the CORRUPT LIGHTNING FORCES OF THE PAPIST.

If they Papist can't FIX YOU PROPERLY IN SINGAPORE, they will do so in JB when you are old.
