Married Divorced Widowed Single Attached

2 sisters went to see a Thai Buddhist Monk. One complaint about her problem with her husband while the other sister complaint about her problem in finding one.

The monk said there is no problem at all - just switch places.

When you are single, there is single people suffering. When you are married, there is married people suffering.

Either way you are farked so why complain or compare?

After the switch, they would still be complaining, but about different things than what they were complaining about previously.
Actually, I don't have a problem with people who complain.
I have a problem with people who boast, without thnking that their spouse may be screwing someone behind their backs (for the marrieds), or that they will face years of old age alone (for the singles).
Why don't they just stfu and accept both their situation and the situation of others quietly?

That's exactly what the monk meant! The buddha had said that life is difficult and also that change is the only contant. People suffer because they can't see, refuse to see or don't accept these truths. Boasting and complaining are signs of the above.
