Man's body found in four-wheel-drive vehicle in Taman Yarl

By RASHITHA A. HAMID

KUALA LUMPUR: The body of a man, believed to be in his 20’s, was found hidden inside the rear compartment of a four-wheel-drive. The vehicle was parked in an alley in Jalan Awam Jawa, Taman Yarl. As the vehicle was blocking traffic, nearby residents had earlier called the police for help. Police received a call at about 1pm and rushed to scene.

Upon investigation, they found a body in the rear section of the four-wheel drive, said city CID chief Senior Asst Comm Datuk Ku Chin Fah.
There were stab wounds on the chest. No weapons were found at the scene. The unidentified man was the son of a electric shop owner whose shop was located in the area where the vehicle was found.

Initial investigation revealed the victim was murdered somewhere else before his body was dumped in the four-wheel drive. “The victim is believed to have been dead for 12 hours before he was found,” SAC Ku said when met at the scene. He added that the car belonged to the father’s company. The body was sent to Hospital Kuala Lumpur for a post-mortem. The case is being investigated under Section 302 of the Penal Code for murder.
