Manchester United 2015-2016

Ryan Giggs set to QUIT Manchester United
and end 29-year association with Red Devils

Although Giggs has a huge emotional bond with United, it is understood he is ready to break it
to prove himself as a manager in his own right

Haiz... u dun believe he's set to quit?? There's a lighter side to this episode though. Some commentators suggest that the only reason why Mou doesn't want Giggs as his assistant is because he has a very pretty daughter. Giggs would go to Mou's home on the pretext of discussing tactics and God forbid something might just happen..........:D

Seriously, I hope he gets the job at the Dell and beat United at the finishing line by a nostril hair. That would make my day!!!!:D:D:D

You could also say the same about that serial philanderer John Terry when Mourinho was coaching Chelsea. Just ask Wayne Bridge :D

No bro, there were many who were against Moyes appointment. They wanted Mourinho. Ferguson made a plea to the fans to support the next manager, the chosen one and it turned out to be a colossal mistake. I'll always remember Moyes as the man who broke the club and I've posted my comments many moons ago. Well, he had the temerity to lay the problem on his predecessor and claimed that the team he inherited were too old. SAF has since refuted those claims and the rest is history.
Could he have succeeded if given time? Perhaps but at the time of his appointment, United had problems attracting top talent and even if we did get one, it will be way in excess of the market premium. It's much like the problem with Pool and Brendan Rogers.IMHO, the misstep United made or didn't make in this case, was to restructure the club post Ferguson with the appointment of a football director. That would have ease and taken the pressure off Moyes to a degree. It was simply a case of too big to succeed.

As far as the analysts and media is concerned, they'll always have something to write whether he succeeds or fail. Let us not forget that Moyes is one of the few British managers left in the game and they're a dying breed.

the greatest fatality of David Moyes is his small team mentality - which he has ingrained from his days at Everton. He imparted the same when he went to Man U. He has already think to draw is a good result and gave the impression as such during press conferences. This definitely stroke the Man U fans the wrong way.

And this has knock on effects on the players.

Man U is definitely not about looking for a draw. its always about the swagger and the arrogance on the field. It is about opponents fearing to come to Old Trafford and not the other way round.

RA, bang on for my money on any misplaced sympathy for DM and red devils DNA.

DM's nick "that guy from Everton" speaks volumes on his stature. Too big shoes for him to fill in, especially after Fergie's tenure. Gritted our teeth then, and even Giggsy's stand-in was a welcome relief. Even LVG had a bigger ego, despite his well documented (by now) screw ups.

OT was the dreaded place for opposing teams. And sadly, they had the gall to even hit us in recent seasons:(

First impression - marcel Desailly.
Second thought - what about paddy McNair & Blackett - end of the road ?
Third thought - bye bye Phil jones n Rojo.

Shaw will definitely stay. Fosu can b backup for either positions though he should start to claim one for his future sake. Cameron Jackson will be cover for LB. darmian shld be retained. Valencia shld be staying I hope.
That means young the one trick pony will be saying Au revoir soon.

Blind should move to midfield to bolster it. Now where r the speed demons ?

United's De Gea wants Real talk to cease before Euro kick-off

No contact has been made either with the keeper or his agent. Florentino Pérez is still keen to sign De Gea but Zidane prefers Keylor Navas.

David de Gea has the sensation that Real Madrid are not going to trigger a clause in his Manchester United contract stating that the Bernabéu can acquire the Spain keeper for 50 million euros before June 15. With just 10 days to go until that date arrives, there has been no contact between Real Madrid, the player’s agent Jorge Mendes or De Gea himself.

Florentino Pérez is still keen to bring the 25-year-old to Madrid but Zinedine Zidane has already told the board that he prefers Keylor Navas and would like to have the Costa Rica keeper between the sticks next season. Zidane is thought to have already told Navas, before the Frenchman went on his post-season holiday, that he will be the number one for 2016-17. Navas elected not to play at the Copa América this month in order to undergo surgery to correct an Achilles tendon problem so that he will be in peak condition for Real Madrid when the season starts.

AS ran a survey on March 10 asking readers to choose their preferred keeper for next season, in which 79 percent responded in favour of Navas.
Another factor that could determine De Gea’s future is the arrival of José Mourinho at Old Trafford. The Portuguese has spoken to the Spain international and given him his vote of confidence and expressed his desire that he remain at Manchester United. De Gea was grateful for the gesture, given that he barely spoke to Louis van Gaal, and Mourinho’s arrival could sway his thinking.

Spain start their Euro 2016 campaign on June 13 against the Czech Republic. Although the famous 50-million-euro clause in his contract expires on June 15, De Gea wants his future completely resolved before Spain’s inaugural match in France. The Manchester United stopper is expected to be Vicente del Bosque’s first choice in France and he wants to concentrate entirely on the tournament. Any announcement about a deal with Real Madrid during the Euros could prove to be a distraction for both De Gea and the team as a whole. Whatever the resolution, it is likely to be cleared up sooner rather than later.

If Eric Bailly is the type of CD he's looking for, then he'll love Fosu Mensah. Methinks signing Verdane is going to be difficult after the public spat between the two clubs. Expect another CD to come before the season opener.

On the contrary, I think Young could be retained and Valencia making an exit. They may trade Darmian plus cash for Pogba if the deal is on the table.

Beyond the shades of grey, there's a brighter side to the 'chosen one's' appointment. If not for Moyes

-we would never had a chance to be entertained by one Louis Van Gaal. You don't need laughing gas for his pre and post match interviews.

-Sir Bobby Charlton would have remained steadfast in his views that we should go British get ONLY Brits to manage the club.

-the fans had a jaw dropping and hair raising first hand experience of what possession football is all about-make silly passes and knock the ball back to the keeper. Wonder if Moyes was peddling hair tonics at the side during match days.

-he saved some small change for Ed and put a grin on his face. That didn't last.

I do wonder what Gollum would have done if he were in Moyes shoes or are they one and the same.:eek::eek:

Wayne Bridge should have stomp on Terry's balls with spike boots. WB is truly an amazing character and took it in his stride, played the best he could and didn't cave in to public scrutiny. Hats off to him.

Man Utd target Ibrahimovic to drop ‘big bomb’ on Tuesday

Zlatan Ibrahimovic has revealed that he will make a massive announcement on Tuesday.

The Swedish superstar continues to be heavily linked with a summer move to Manchester United and could quite possibly reveal all at a press conference early this week.........

He may not be coming after all. I'd be surprised if he decide otherwise.

What's on Jose Mourinho's to-do list over the next few weeks?

Surely it won't stay this tidy for long?

You reckon he's worth £30m??? He only joined Villarreal for £4.5m last year.

On paper at least, it would appear United have paid over the board. If Baily delivers on the things expected of him with his talent, speed and aggression, then I'd say it's worth it. It's a relative thing but let's not forget he is only 22 and a long career ahead of him.

One thing is clear though, Mou is looking at players that would maximize his tactical options. He's taking United to a new level in that sense. The players he wants are those with versatliity, good physique, fitness coupled with speed and aggression. United fans can look forward to a very fit first eleven playing at a high tempo, something they've not seen for the past three years.:D

If there's one thing I'd like Mou to do is to remove those elements that led to a players 'revolt' against his predecessor. Be more like Ferguson and show them the door if they dun want to play.

I doubt very much that Pogba will come back which is the reason why United is looking at a backup option-Miralem Pjanic.
