BARCLAYS PREMIER LEAGUE
Venue: St James' Park Date: Saturday, 5 April
TEAM NEWS
Newcastle's injury woes continue, with Moussa Sissoko joining their lengthy list of absentees with a thigh strain.
He joins the likes of Tim Krul, Mathieu Debuchy and Loic Remy on the sidelines.
Manchester United duo Chris Smalling and Jonny Evans are back in training and available to play but Robin van Persie remains out.
Rafael and Ryan Giggs are doubts, but Alex Buttner is fit, while Juan Mata and Patrice Evra return after missing the midweek draw with Bayern Munich.
MATCH PREVIEW
It's unusual for this fixture, at this stage of the season, not to be one of importance towards the top of the Premier League. However, make no mistake, it's hugely significant for both of these clubs in their current predicament.
LAWRO'S PREDICTION
Mark Lawrenson
Football analyst
"I will be at St James' Park for this game and I am not expecting a lot from Newcastle. They were thrashed 4-0 by Southampton last week and they were absolutely hopeless.
"For a few weeks now, it has felt like the Magpies' season is over and Alan Pardew's absence from the dug-out has not helped."

In Manchester United's rollercoaster season of transition there have been small signs of hope and recovery at times, only to then be followed by another negative result.
Their midweek Champions League draw with Bayern Munich defied the odds and will have lifted spirits on the back of victory over Aston Villa. But they will be desperate to avoid any more damaging headlines ahead of their trip to Bavaria next Wednesday.
Amazingly, the reigning champions have saved some of their better performances away from Old Trafford and have the best record on the road in the entire league. A fourth successive away win would be a timely tonic before they face their huge challenge in Germany, which is followed by David Moyes' first return to Everton.
In their search for consistency they could point to four league wins in their last six games but that masks the dark defeats at home to Liverpool and Manchester City.
If Newcastle can inflict an 11th league defeat on them this season it would go some away to lifting the ever dampening spirits on Tyneside. They are a team that have now lost nine of their last 14 matches and haven't scored in 10 of them.
Alan Pardew couldn't defend the criticism that came his team's way after last weekend's capitulation against Southampton and has made it clear he expects a reaction.
Both he and Moyes have a big summer ahead of them and will already have thoughts about next season when analysing certain players in the remaining games.
The corresponding fixture back in December was one of Newcastle's brighter moments of the campaign, when they secured their first win at Old Trafford since 1972. If there's a loser in this one, there'll be yet another uncomfortable weekend ahead.
MATCH FACTS
Head-to-head
Newcastle won the reverse fixture 1-0 in December courtesy of a goal by Yohan Cabaye, their first win at Old Trafford since 1972.
Victory for Newcastle would see them complete the league double over Manchester United for the first time since the 1930-31 season.
Newcastle
Newcastle have lost nine of their last 14 Premier League matches (W4, D1).
The Magpies have conceded seven goals in their last two league games but have failed to score themselves.
Alan Pardew's men have won as many league games as they have lost this season (14) but conceded nine goals more than they have scored.
Newcastle have scored in the 90th minute or later in each of their last four league victories, Two of those goals proved to be the winner.
Manchester United
They have the best away record in the Premier League, earning 30 points from a possible 48.
United are on an four-match unbeaten away run (W3, D1) and have kept clean sheets in all of those games.
The Red Devils are yet to lose a league game in which they have taken the lead (W12, D2).
David Moyes' side have won only two of 15 matches against other sides in the top half of the table (W2, D4, L9).
