Manchester United 2013/2014

Replace with who? Everton don't want him back, the other possible candidates are happy (and achieving more) at their current clubs. ;)

AVB, hey i am sure the fat waiter can be tempted...lee clark; shock return by Roy keane?

years before they found fergie, charlton has to u-turn to retake reins at OT. Maybe Fergie could contemplate this until a better candidate is available...some will be after the World Cup.

i'm sure......... Bryan Robson......Mark Hughes......Roy Keane.......Paul Ince.......Steve Bruce........will be happy to take on the job.............

nothing like having a former club legend lead the club to relegation mah........

Something nice to reminisce. :o

AVB will further destroy Man Utd with his 'high line' nonsense.
Benitez is happy and achieving things with Napoli.
Roy Keane and Lee Clark are not very good managers, either is a downgrade from Moyes.

No credible manager will want to work in Man Utd simply because of the past achievements or the name/brand. They are all future-oriented, and who wants to work under the shadow of Fergie (retire my ass), stingy/clueless owner(s) and an inept technical director?

If there is no funds , then the next best thing is to maximise whatever u have on hand n use youths, none of which moyes is doing at the moment. Benitez has achievements he won trophies before, similarly AVB. He won with Porto much like fergie before winning with Aberdeen.

In a way AVB is the apprentice to the great one. The only reason fergie plump for moyes is bcos he is a fellow scot n he was avaon free

Mata for gbp40mil?

Mata is a fine player but is he worth £40m? Hmm....I am not sure. However, he would be a better investment than that £28m Moyes paid for Fellaini.

Self extended MC for RVP, or more than meets the eye?

Moyes clears air with RVP

http://www.thesun.co.uk/sol/homepag...lear-the-air-talks-with-Robin-van-Persie.html

DAVID MOYES has held showdown talks with Robin van Persie over the striker’s fitness.
Manchester United’s physios have told Moyes last season’s top scorer IS ready to play.

But the Dutch star, 30, claims he still needs more time out.

The clear-the-air meeting between the pair took place in Moyes’ office at the Carrington training ground — and it comes after months of unrest surrounding the former Arsenal ace.

Manchester United may have to put Europa League QUALIFIER before US tour to mark Chevrolet deal

Manchester United are planning a pre-season tour of North America to mark the start of a £53m sponsorship deal with Chevrolet but may have to cut the trip short if they fail to qualify for the Champions League and have to play a Europa League tie in July.

Car giants will pump in £53m a year as shirt sponsor from next season but pre-season trip is at risk if Moyes' men miss top four and have to play in July

Coming to America: Moyes' Reds are off to the States - but for how long?

PAManchester United face the embarrassment of having to cut short their glamour pre-season tour of the USA to play in... a Europa League qualifier.

Struggling United have pencilled in a three-week tour of North America from mid-July to mark the start of their £53million-a-year shirt deal with car-makers Chevrolet.

But they could now be forced to revise those plans if they miss out on a Champions League place and end up in UEFA’s No.2 competition instead.

David Moyes’ side would enter at the third qualifying round and be in first-leg action on July 31 if they reach Europe by winning the Capital One Cup rather than through the league - and would have to get through a two-leg playoff round after that.

That time of year traditionally sees United abroad on tour, and they would have to cut a week and possibly two lucrative friendlies from their schedule to come home early for the Euro matches.

United are languishing in seventh, six points outside the top four, and have shelved plans for a promotional tour of the US because of the uncertainty over where they will finish in the Premier League.

They cannot bring the start of the tour forward, because they do not want to go to the US until after the World Cup Final on July 13.

Also, manager Moyes also wants every player involved in the finals in Brazil to have at least three weeks off before reporting back for pre-season duty.

United claim they are relaxed about the summer tour and say everything is still at the planning stage. A club spokesperson said: “We are working on our pre-season plans and hope to make an announcement in the coming weeks.”

United add that uncertainty over their participation in the Champions League is nothing new and that they have had to play qualifying games in recent years to get to the group stage.

But those matches were in mid-August and never impacted on their pre-season tours. They have never played a qualifier in July before.

Even if Mata is unhappy at Chelsea, no sensible player will want to play for David Moyes. It is career suicide, and Champions League football next season is unlikely.

Mata won't save Man Utd... save the money and buy some defenders and maybe one defensive midfielder. ;)

before Man U is out of this season's champs league................hope they play Bayern in Q-F........

don't see how Mata can help Man U. He lacks height, so no headers, he cannot dribble, cannot dazzle like Messi.
What can he do, smart passes ? But if you cannot see where your team mates are (no height) how to do the laser pass?

GOOO MAN U ... give the irish man a little bit more time to adjust managing a giant team

DM is a scotsman, not irish eyes. He's had enough time with half season gone ...and nothing great to show since. On your latter bit, how the giants have fallen from grace.

RM plans to take on Roon?

http://www.telegraph.co.uk/sport/fo...llion-summer-move-from-Manchester-United.html

Wayne Rooney lined up by Real Madrid for £25 million summer move from Manchester United
Spanish giants Real Madrid are preparing to test Manchester United's determination to keep Wayne Rooney at Old Trafford with a summer swoop for the £25 million striker

Real Madrid are planning to enter the race to sign Wayne Rooney this summer after identifying the Manchester United forward as more attainable than their first-choice target Sergio Agüero.

Although United remain determined to resist all offers for Rooney, preferring to hold the 28-year-old to the remaining 18 months on his Old Trafford contract, Real believe that the England forward can be prised away from the Premier League champions at the end of the season.

Rooney's failure to commit his future to United and the prospect of playing again with Cristiano Ronaldo at the Bernabéu Stadium has given Real confidence that a deal can be struck for the player.

Manchester City forward Agüero remains Real's No 1 target, having been courted by the club since his prolific spell with Madrid neighbours Atlético, but neither City nor the Argentine have offered any encourage*ment that a deal can be done.

Agüero's decision to commit himself to a new contract at the Etihad Stadium last May, tying him to the club until June 2017, forced Real to abort plans to move for the player last summer and although their interest is ongoing, City's financial power and emergence as a genuine European power has forced Real to consider other options.
