Music degrees are the most dubious degrees. Paul McCartney has 4 O Levels and John Lennon had 3 O Levels, something like that These are the two top names on the musicians' section of the Guinness Book of Records. Also never heard of Ludwig Beethoven or Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart having any music degree.

degree are for people who has undergone a structured education..hence an acceptable standard and quality depending on the institutions he went...
you expect mozart or beethoven to teach your kids how to play the piano and violin?

The very word talent means an a natural endowment, in Chinese it's called 天才, self-explanatory for anyone who knows the literal meaning of the word. It comes naturally, cannot be acquired. Technical proficiency in play musical instruments can be trained and acquired of course. The technically proficient band is always behind the limelight of the lead talent, who is born with the voice to interpret music as no one else does and/or a artiscally musical mind to figure out musical notes to compose a song without even knowing how to read the musical scales. If anyone wants their children to play in nightclub or funeral bands, it's OK to hire a music tutor. If it's just for enrichment in musical instrument proficiency in which the children have shown interest in, it's OK too.
