Man to die for killing model who allegedly tried to sodomise him
ALOR SETAR: An unemployed man was sentenced to death on Tuesday for killing a part-time model he claimed had tried to sodomise him in May 2004. High Court Judge Datuk Zamani A. Rahim said the court found the accused, Ismawi Ishak, 25, guilty as charged as the defence had failed to raise reasonable doubt in the case.
Ismawi, 25, was charged with murdering Mohamad Azhary Mohamed Osman, 26, at a house in No 180, Jalan Anggerik 1/7 Bandar Amanjaya, Sungai Petani between 12.01am and 7.15am on May 4, 2004. In his defence, Ismawi said he stabbed the model out of shock, panic and anger because the model tried to sodomise him while he was asleep on the night of the incident.
Zamani said that the post-mortem report showed 27 injuries on the victim's body including two "Rambo knife" stab wounds in the victim's chest. "In his testimony, the accused failed to prove that he was in a sudden and grave danger and that he was acting in self defence," he said. - Bernama
