BY ISABELLE LAI, NG SI HOOI, AND A. RAMAN

A 35-YEAR-OLD man, who got married three months ago, was shocked to learn that his wife was stealing from him, reported Makkal Osai.

K. Santosh lodged a report against his wife Manali Kulkarni, 34, at the police station in Pune, North India, accusing her of stealing cash, gold and silver ornaments and chequebooks worth Rs3.52 lakh (RM20,700).

Santosh had no clue about the theft until he got a call from the police station which told him that an engineer had lodged a report against his wife and six others.

Police told Santosh that Manali and her accomplices had cheated the engineer of Rs10.72 lakh (RM63,058) by promising to help him get a loan to open a restaurant.

He got suspicious and immediately checked his house only to find that all the valuables were missing.

It was Manali’s second marriage and she had been arrested.

> An 18-year-old girl, who grew up in a home for the destitute in Chennai, is now looking forward to meeting her mother.

Malaysia Nanban reported that Aradhana’s mother was mentally disturbed when she gave birth to her by the roadside in 1995.

Her mother recently remembered her village and an NGO helped trace her relatives.
