'Rituals' like Prayer times and fasting decided by sunset and sunrise are 'problematic' in nordic polar regions.

Absolutely.
First they compiled quran which was not written by Mohammed, so it cannot be the word of God.
Then they introduced hadith to inculcate the rituals and made arabs submit to this religion.
Initially, converting to islam means renouncing your religion. And to be a free man.free from all the idiosyncrasy of practicing a religion. Hence many down trodden slaves joined in the muslim army. Including jews who wanted jerusalem returned to their hands.
