Man nabbed over loan-shark harassment
By Danson Cheong
A SINGAPOREAN man was arrested on Monday for allegedly assisting a Vietnamese loan-shark runner in committing acts of harassment.
The 34-year-old salesman was believed to have abetted multiple acts of loan-shark harassment committed between May 29 and June 2 last year.
Together with his partner Mai Thanh Tai, they allegedly committed the acts in Yishun, Ang Mo Kio, Bukit Batok, Jurong West and Clementi.
He was nabbed in Kuala Lumpur by the Royal Malaysia Police (RMP) after a Singapore court issued a warrant for his arrest. The man was in Malaysia when the warrant was issued.
The Straits Times understands that the warrant was issued only recently after further investigation results came to light.
The man was brought back to Singapore on Monday, where he was arrested by police, said a police statement issued on Tuesday.
