Man killed in quarrel over boar meat
IPOH: A man died after he was stabbed in the neck during a quarrel over the portioning of the meat of a wild boar caught in the jungle in Hutan Melintang, 120km south of here, police said. K. Perumal, 27, a plantation worker from Sungai Samak, Hutan Melintang, died as he was being rushed to the Teluk Intan Hospital following the incident at 9pm on Sunday, said Hilir Perak police chief ACP Goh Kok Liang.
Goh added that the quarrel started when Perumal and two brothers were discussing the portioning of the meat of the boar which the trio had caught. One of the brothers then pulled out a penknife and stabbed Perumal in the neck, he said, adding that the brothers then fled on a motorcycle.
Perumal was helped by his wife and other plantation workers to a nearby clinic. He was rushed to the Teluk Intan Hospital but died on the way. ACP Goh said police recovered a blood-stained penknife and arrested two men, aged 21 and 24. They have been remanded for seven days from yesterday to help in police investigations. — Bernama
