Man jailed for stabbing friend with ice pick
SINGAPORE: A man who stabbed his friend with an ice pick has been sentenced to 12 months' jail.
41-year-old Chng Kai Jie had attacked 39-year-old Mr Low Hang Poh in June this year.
The incident happened at the void deck of a block of flats at Ang Mo Kio Avenue 10.
Chng believed Mr Low had stolen his mobile phone and went on to assault his friend.
For hurting someone with a weapon, the maximum penalty is a jail term of seven years, a fine and caning. - CNA/xq
