Man jailed a week for killing 9-year-old girl and injuring maid

A former deliveryman who caused the death of a nine-year-old girl and injured an Indonesian maid was jailed for one week on Monday.
Ng Leng Teck, 66, was also banned from driving for five years over the fatal accident in Sengkang on Sept 14, 2009.
Ng pleaded guilty to the two charges last Dec 27.
A district court heard that Ng, who was driving a van at the time, was making a right turn at the cross-junction of Punggol Road by Buangkok Drive when he failed to keep a proper lookout, resulting in the vehicle hitting Mindy Neo Rui Jing and the family's domestic helper, Ms Ulmawati Endrawati, then 24.
