Man jailed 3 years for stabbing wife
A man has been sentenced to three years' jail for stabbing his wife in the abdomen with a kitchen knife.
SINGAPORE: A man who caused grievous hurt to his wife was sentenced to three years' jail on Monday.
Chew Teck Lye, 42, was convicted of causing grievous hurt by stabbing Mdm Goh Siew Chuan's abdomen with a kitchen knife on 20 July 2012, 2:11pm at Anchorvale Link.
The stabbing was triggered by his 33-year-old wife's extramarital affairs.
Chew, a former flight steward, and Mdm Goh are currently going through divorce proceedings.
The father-of-two was also initially charged with attempting to commit suicide after stabbing his wife. The prosecution however did not proceed with the charge.
