Man jailed 21 months, to get 6 strokes of cane for various offences

A recalcitrant offender who spat at police officers and tried to slash a teen was jailed a total of 21 months and ordered to be given six strokes of the cane on Thursday.
Emmanuel Munisamy, 25, who is now in a drug rehabilitation centre, pleaded guilty to five of 12 charges of using abusive language and criminal force against police officers, trying to cause hurt and having a knife.
All the incidents in the five charges occurred at Lorong 1 Toa Payoh between April and June this year.
Police arrested him on June 10 for rowdy behaviour when he shouted and gesticulated at two other men, who shouted back at him.
