PASIR PUTEH: Three family members have been arrested for at least 30 cases of robbery, snatch theft and housebreaking.
State police chief Datuk Jalaluddin Abdul Rahman said the male suspect, 19, his wife, 20, and mother, 51, were active in four districts since January.
"The three were arrested at the Sultan Ismail Petra Airport, Pengkalan Chepa and they were believed to be trying to flee to Sarawak at 10.30pm last night.
"All the suspects were remanded until next Sunday," he told reporters here.
Police found 131 stolen goods, including television sets, mobile phones, cameras, RM1,800 and robbery tools, hidden in their house in Kampung Gong Serapat.
Jalaluddin said police are tracking down the man's brother, 29, believed to be the mastermind.
The younger brother usually used a parang to commit robbery while the elder brother wait at the wheel to make a quick escape.
"His wife and mother will help to dispose off the stolen goods by selling them."
