Foreign worker, Mr Alagar Selvam, 40, was found dead at a field at Mayne Road, off Mackenzie Road, yesterday morning.

For two hours, a security guard at a condo nearby saw Mr Selvam’s body lying on the field, but thought the man was just too drunk to wake up.

It was only after the police arrived and put up a tent did the guard realise that the man he had been trying to wake was dead.

He said: “Throughout the weekend, foreign workers will be sitting at the field, drinking. So I thought he was just one of them.”

His younger brother in India said the family was in shock over his death. He leaves behind a wife and two sons aged 16 and 11.
