Man arrested for suspected milk powder theft

SINGAPORE: A 27-year-old man has been arrested for allegedly stealing tins of milk powder from supermarkets in Hougang.

A supermarket store supervisor lodged a police report on Sunday, informing that several tins of milk powder had been stolen.

Police were able to establish the suspect's identity from CCTV footage.

The suspect is believed to be involved in at least four cases of shop theft from supermarkets in Hougang Avenue 8.

About S$1000 worth of milk powder were stolen.

The suspect will be charged in Court Thursday.

If convicted, he faces a maximum jail term of 7 years and a fine. - CNA/ec
