SINGAPORE – A 55-year-old man was arrested after a motorcyclist was killed in an accident in Loyang on Jan 24.
The police said they were alerted to the accident, which involved a car and a motorcycle, at the junction of Loyang Way and Loyang Lane at about 6.40am.
The motorcyclist, a 31-year-old man, was pronounced dead at the scene by a Singapore Civil Defence Force paramedic.
The car driver was arrested for careless driving causing death.
Footage of the accident’s aftermath, uploaded to various social media platforms, shows a blue police tent erected next to a badly wrecked motorcycle. Various parts of the motorcycle can be seen scattered across the road.
The motorcycle’s licence plate appears to be a foreign one.
In one video, at least two police motorcycles, a police van and a car are present. A police officer also appears to be talking to a middle-aged man and taking notes.
