[h=1]MALAYSIAN FT ADMITS TO COMMITTING SEXUAL OFFENCES ON 31 DIFFERENT YOUNG BOYS[/h]

A 31 year old Malaysian man, Yap Weng Wah, pleaded guilty to 12 counts of sexual offences against young boys aged 11 to 15.
He admitted to having sex with 10 victims and agreed to have 64 other charges of sexual offences taking into consideration for sentencing.
The serial paedophile had committed sexual offences on a total of 31 different young boys and committed 76 different sexual acts with them.
On at least one occasion, he also convinced one of the young boys to give him an obscene video.
The court heard that Yap had met the boys online through facebook and befriended them. He chatted to them online about sexual things before convincing them to meet with him.
HE was arrested in 2012 after one of the victims lodged a police report stating that Yap had sexually penetrated him.
Investigations also revealed that he had over 2,000 obscene videos in his laptop including footage of some of the victims.
All the offences were committed in Singapore where Yap works as a quality assurance engineer.
The offences happened between 2009 and 2012. Yap first moved to Singapore in 2009 from Ipoh where the rest of his family lives.
The hearing for his sentencing will be heard at a later date.
Prosecutors are pushing for at least 30 years in jail and the maximum 24 strokes of the cane given the many number of victims and tender ages of the boys.
Yap swore not to repeat his offences and cried in court while begging the judge for leniency as he was remorseful and he apologised to his victims and his families.
It seems that this Foreign “Talent” came to Singapore and committed such horrible acts immediately upon landing a job here.
In this case, 31 young boys here have been used and many may suffer mentally and emotionally from the exploitation. It seems that we really are welcoming all sorts of “talents” here to live and work.
