Ministry gives a hand to Unicef

KUALA LUMPUR: The Women, Family and Community Develop_ment Ministry has lent its support to a Unicef campaign that aims to collect 100,000 virtual signatures against child abuse. Minister Datuk Seri Shahrizat Abdul Jalil took time off from debates at the Umno general assembly to put down her signature online. “The ministry has pledged to support Unicef by becoming a strategic partner in the campaign. The campaign, initiated in June, will end on Dec 10 with a Human Rights Day celebration co-hosted by Unicef and the ministry. A quick check on the website, www.uniteagainstabuse.my, shows that more than 1,200 signatures had been collected.
