There is a reason for this.
PAP wanted this HSR more than umno. Wanted to corner umno and force them to agree with PAP plan.
But the jurong proposal will hike ticket cost by as much as 50%. PAP will charge rail operator a bomb to use its jurong station.
A cheaper alternative is kranji.
