Malaysia is the 10th laziest nation in the world!

Like the song said. Its Malaysian government policy to encourage Malaysian Chinese to go overseas so they can return to benefit the country.

Not so sure on the govt's "game plan" for return of chinese populace. Across the causeway, cari makan especially from 70s. Some even went into armed forces as regulars, and other uniformed groups police and traffic. Blue ICs then maybe red. Education a step backwards, dropping English as main language to bahasa. Problem was (and is) teaching profession also sufffered from lack of learning materials. Some efforts to turn tide, but kena political lobby. So private education never had it so good. Chinese schools still maintain their independent status, I think.

Brain drain also caused a knee jerk policy to reward returning skilled malaysians with tax break. But huha on those stayed behind, how??

Maybe some other knowledgeable forummers here can elaborate further

Don't quote me on this, but I believe that is pretty accurate about the situation about the Chinese schools in Malaysia. Its a totally different education path that they have, hence they can't even go towards their own university. Going to Taiwan, overseas remains the only option for them. Don't forget that they Bumi quota also affects the chinese in entering university. Having a low ranking does not bode well with most parents as well.
